It’s the first Thursday of the month and things are bustling. Today is the day we pick up from Costco, Aldi, Pick N Save, Starbucks, Kwik Trip, and Piggly Wiggly, & Jimmy Johns. We pick up Walmart every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Everything needs to be weighed and logged. Then the numbers need to be electronically given to Feeding America. It is fairly decent so our perishable items will be outside today. We had a new awning installed this week at the front of our building to protect our people from the elements when filling out their paperwork. We’ve also had some outdoor lights installed under our 3 awnings. When it gets dark early no one can see the outside items or see to fill out their paperwork. These are a couple of things that will make it easier for our families to get the help they need. The youth group at St. Leonard’s filled plastic buckets with movie treats. The buckets included soda, microwave popcorn, movie treats and other fun items. They made about 20 buckets. The kids really enjoyed the project. We also have constant support from the students at St. Joseph’s Catholic School. They have a food drive every month for us. Please keep us in mind when you do your grocery shopping. It helps keep our shelves stocked. Many thanks to the community for their support.
